Hi All,
This is my first post - I've just bought a Q7 - should be delivered on Saturday I hope for the new 08 plate - fairly basic Phantom Black S Line with Technology Pack + Privacy Glass! I am looking into getting a tracker fitted - does anyone have any recommendations about which one to go for and prices, etc. Regards Trimedical |

Why do you want to spend money on a tracker??
first off if you require to track the car it means it has been stolen, do you really want it back after somebody has abused your pride and joy second i think you have to pay a anuual fee? i am not sure. STOP them taking it in the first place. a good immobiliser backed up by another because the longer they spend trying to take it the more likley they are to give up. Any way any good high tech theif could make a jammer to sheild the r/f signal Have a good look around first mate before you spend your hard earned cash |

I hear what you are saying WPC80, but the decision I made to have one fitted was swayed by two factors. Firstly I got a hefty discount on my insurance for having one of these devices fitted and secondly, unless you have gap insurance (about the same price as the lifetime subscription), you will never get all the money back you spent on the vehicle if it is written off. The discount on the insurance is annual, so within a few years, you will have paid for the tracker and after that it will save you money.
Vehicles with trackers fitted don't advertise the fact one is fitted, in case the theif finds it or 'jams' it. It ain't foolproof but it helps me sleep at night! You pays your money, you takes your chance. Mark |

Thanks for the advice - I went for the tracker horizon in the end - cost £325 fitted inc VAT - annual subscription on top.
I used these guys: Installation of in-car vehicle technology - Vehtech - excellent! |
