Just bought some Vredestein Wintrac 4 Extreme 275/45R20 but won't be fitting them till after Xmas. A bit of internet research proved there weren't many options in UK but, of the few available, these seemed the best buy.

I ended up getting the Toyo OPGO2+ Tire. I had to go down to an 18" rim from 20". Ptretty pricey but I think that I will be happy to have a good winter tire sperate from a Summer tire instead of an all season.
The tire is a 255/55R18 to get close match to the overall diameter of the original tire. Winter has not hit yet in Alberta Canada but I am looking forward to the first snow storm to test it out. I have noticed that there is more cab noise from tire howling but that is because it is on dry pavement. The rubber on these tires is actually very soft, which is good for clod weather. Hope this helps. |

A quick scan of the offerings on sites like tirerack.com are showing only a few offerings. Depending on what rims you are fitted with the tires are quite pricey. If you are running the 20" you may want to think about an 18" wheel and tire package to save coin.
In terms of performance for your money the Vredestein's , the dunlop Grandtrek or the Bridgestone Blizzak will be pretty much unstoppable in the snow. Any modern snow tire is very soft and will wear quickly on dry pavement though so change them out as soon as winter is done. |
