Well I love my New Q7, sadly today I don’t have a clue why the voice control has stopped working, when you press the steering wheel button, it mutes for a second, no bleep and then nothing just returns to music, cant see why the thing was perfect yesterday, looked everywhere to see if there is some master reset but nothing, I just hope its a simple fix, anyone else had a problem with the voice activation.

Go into sound set up via mmi if voice control is not highlighted take it two the dealer there have been a few voice control units going down recently but there may also be a fault on the most ring ie telephone control unit or radio.Loop break diagnosis will indicate the fault. If it worked before then its a failure as some came through from the factory with code issue and the telephone control unit required recode for a conflict with voice control.

Thank you just come back from the helpful dealer, who reset it by holding setup, centre and on/off, this brought it back to life a bit but no bleep, and no confirmation etc, so it sees there is either a fault or some setup software problem, will keep the forum updated on the outcome, no doubt there will be some news on tuesday when it goes in.
Up date systems reverted to nothing... as an electronics engineer this stinks of some firmware problem, I wonder if just opering down the whole care and rebooting would get it up, any thoughts anyone, seems to be a warning in teh books that flat battery may mean having some systems rebooted by dealer?? I am sure there is no hard electrics fault just sequence of events Last edited by mnk303 : 10-28-2007 at 03:11 AM. |

Well chaps Five Oaks Audi were excellent, top mechanic on the job, found the voice control was faulty, (only one left on the stock control in the uK) fitted and seems fine, hope it lasts though. They said it must be a known fault as there is usually more then one spare in stock. Must be different firm ware as it works better now with my Sony K800i were before it was a bit tempermental
