The state of British roads may be contributing to the problem as it has to premature suspension component wear. maybe the suspension is TOO adaptive and causing geometry changes to excess. Whatever the factors are, the reporting system in place at centres will be helping Audi to investigate and rectify. At least they have put in place a scheme to contribute to costs in the meantime. I can feel a software update to adaptive suspension coming on! If you can't hang on in there then move on,(I've heard Fiat Pandas are good) but if it gives some comfort banging on about it on a forum then so be it.

When people rant at centre staff all it does is give a negative effect towards that customer throughout the departments, it's human nature.

As for A2, yes I love em ;-)

And SUV's...........YUK!... I hate (all of them)
They are good. Very good. But I have one of each and many others besides. My Audi dealer didn't want to know and I had to pay them for the geometry check and realignment and a set of tyres at 9000 miles. Since they knew of the problem and were probably paid twice for the job [by myself and Audi] I can only conclude that they were taking the p. Will they give me my money back for the car so I can move on? I bet not.
Don't want to anyway. All I want is a reasonable tyre life. I don't expect it to match the 35,000 miles I always get from the Toyota and Range Rover. I would be quite happy with 20,000 miles for a set of four. I'm quite easily pleased.

Why should they? all thats happened is the product you bought hasn't met your expectations. As and when Audi come up with a solution then you will have a case to recover your costs. Centres cannot charge the customer and Audi, if they did they wouldn't be a centre for long.

Come off it. I know many of the little tricks of the trade and that is a common one. Fact is they charged me when they should not have and could have also supplied new tyres or at least a contribution. And as for stating that the wear is down to the car's weight, well you and I and now the world know better.
So why the excuses? There is no excusing my dealer and there is no disguising the fact that many, if not most Q7 cars wear their tyres out unacceptably quickly compared to any similar competitor.

Fella you are way out of touch on that one.

If they have charged you then you all ready have a case due to the current guide lines, unless you are a showroom ranter as well as a forum one.

Badger - you are beginning to sound a bit off key here. I take it that you do not own or drive a Q7 and if you do I suspect it might be a as a company car - Audi perhaps. Does sound like it doesn't it?

Thank you for your support BTW - you seem to have inside knowledge or is that just hot air too?

Default Rantin

Excuse the words, my keyboard has lost the letter between f and h....

Rantin! has it's place - I achieved a new BMW 330ci convertible for the six month old one that kept breakin down with a rant at head of customer services at BMW UK - and they came throuh in style.....better car, newer and no fuss - can't speak well enou!h of them - if only I liked the X5.

If you want to help me 'move on' from a 50k car - i'll send you my bank details.....in the meantime, I'll stick with makin Audi sort what is a known problem....and make sure it's not a once only offer - my ten years at Which? tau!ht me how to complain effectively, not just moan....

Anyway, took it in this mornin, told dealer that they and Audi UK need to sort it amon!st themselves.....and I'll decide if I want it back when they make me an improved offer....in the meantime I'm crammed into an A4! Also sent a summary of situation to head of customer services by email - he's on holiday but his bounceback at least provided me with his mobile number - handy!

All for handin! them back - mine will not leave the dealer unless it's free of char!e and I can brin! it back should it happen a!ain......or I'll let them keep it.

Rant over - let me know how much you can contribute to my 'movin on'....???

JC

The product we bou!ht was sold with a known fault and we were not notified of this when makin! the purchase decision NOR after when we could have taken advanta!e of 100% compensation - it's not about expectations, it's about fitness for purpose and 'hidin!' a known problem cos if they recalled, they'd be in for a few million in tyres....or we'd all buy somethin else if told up front....

In what way off key?

I do drive several Q7's on and off, but own one or as a company car, no thanks, I'm not keen on SUV's of any make and the tyre wear is horrendous!!

No hot air here, i can see it from both points of view, believe it or not. A8 tech and myself have an awful lot of inside knowledge which we don't mind sharing to help on this forum. If any news comes to light you guys will be the first to know.
