Anyone else ordered a 4.2TDI?

Mine should be arriving in June and the order is confirmed. Still not listed on the Audi UK website though, for some reason.

Mugello Blue with most of the usual options, except I decided to stay with the 9J x 20 '5-spoke' design alloy wheels.

Anyone else got one on order? If so were you offered any additional options unique to the 4.2TDI?

I ordered my 4.2tdi 1st week of april, have been told that its being built week 20, should be at dealer 1st june.

The reason its not on the website is that the Official LAunch is 23rd June.

I have ordered a Garnet Red S Line with lots of toys added.

Can't wait. Will post pic when I get it.

Ooh, around same time as me. Mine's specced up too. Was shocked at additional cost of angine over 3.0 TDI S-Line.

What it the extra cost of the 4.2tdi over the 3.0tdi ?

Also, what are it's performance/ecomomy figures compared to the 3.0tdi ?

Thats the bad bit. It's around £9K extra

The 90-degree 32-valve V8 features a pair of variable-geometry turbochargers and delivers 326 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque, which is available starting at just 1,800 RPM. That power is channeled to the quattro drive via a six-speed Tiptronic. Performance is noteworthy, as the sizeable SUV makes the rush to 62 mph in just 6.2 seconds and has a top speed of 146 mph. Despite all this, the Q7 4.2 TDI delivers over 21 mpg of fuel economy in the combined cycle.

So quite a bit more torque and acceleration at the cost of reduced but still reasonable fuel economy.

So it's somewhere between 21 and 25mpg on the EU combined cycle.

Hi Magnum

I think the reason for the 9k price difference is firstly a whopping V8 as opposed to the V6in the 3.0 and two dirty great turbo charges that they have fitted to the V8.

Are you going to have a tracker fitted? I am thinking about fitting one to mine when it comes.
