This clearly shows that new ordered cars today get MP3 CD Changers and SIM access profile Bluetooth kits.

The big question for me is why don't I have either of these as I was told me car build date was late November.

Got a call in to the dealer to find my exact build date

Si
Would be interesting to see if it was retrofitable.

Edit: I don't see any reason why they are currently offering both bluetooth kits though. Especially as Bluetooth 2 is only £100 pounds more than B1

I don't think they are offering both kits.

I think a car ordered now will get the new kit but a car that was built maybe 4 months ago got the old kit

A real shame they made improvements between my car being built and me receiving it.

Just so I'm sure, is there a simple why I can check if my Bluetooth has SIM access profile or not ?

Thanks

Si

Si,
Won't know till I get the Q7. Also bare in mind certain mobile phones (mainly older units) will not have bluetooth sim access.

As an aside when I ordered my car there were indeed two bluetooth choices in the options list which is why I (luckily) queried it and ended up ordering the newer technology.

Cheers
Eric

Well I've just got off the phone from my dealer and I now know why I don't have any of the newer stuff like you guys.

My car was actually built on 11th Oct 2006 even though I didn't buy the car till January 2007 so it's got all the old stuff.

Bluetooth & MP3 changer was updated on 30/10/2006 which I missed.

To say I'm a little annoyed is putting it mildly....I guess I should have figured they must have ordered the car sometime earlier but I never realised it was so much earlier......

So no SIM access profile, no MP3 Changer and I'm not even sure the AMI retrofit will work as I understand it's going to be only for cars built after Nov 2006.

Might as well set fire too it now

These are little things mate. Nothing to get upset about. You're still driving one of the classiest cars on the road.

Si,
Did some looking around last night and it does seem the CD changer can easily be swapped out and replaced by the MP3 CD changer.

Yeah I got the same impression but it's at a cost and that cost is massive.

Going to wait until I can get the AMI fitted.

As for the SIM access profile Bluetooth, we always have the latest PDA phones so this would be useless to me anyway.

Thanks for looking though

Si

Now I'm peeved
Just found out the factory did a boo-boo and left out my advanced key option. On the plus side I saved £800 pounds. On the negative side I really like the idea which is why I ordered it in the first place

Not the dealers fault to be fair, the MD and the manager who runs the place are personal friends of mine (not to mention customers, I run a high end custom install home cinema business) and mentioned they can put it into stock and order up another car for me. In all honesty I really don't fancy waiting another 3 months so I've gone with it.

The car should be here any day.
