Another question guys, this one more on the technical side of things...
With Audi being at the forefront of aluminium body panels and spaceframes, I was surprised to find that the Q7's structure is only 6% aluminium. ![]() Does anyone know why this is? My best guess would be that aluminium isn't strong enough to support a vehicle of that size's weight, but that's just a stab in the dark. Any takers on this one? |

Hi,
Q7 is a vehicle to go on bad ways. In the bad ways, the accidents arrive more easily. ![]() To repair aluminium parts, it is necessary to have special equipment (one needs also a special technical training). That is very expensive. ![]() |
