Vibrations - NOT tires, wheels, rotors, front CV

Car has vibrations. They are NOT specific to a certain speed, but exist from 50 mph up (almost gone at 100 mph).
They 'come and go' like a wave.
Present under accel, decel, coasting, in neutral.
Tires/wheels balanced.
front drive shafts replaced
Front rotors replaced.
Swapped set of known good non vibrating tires/wheels from other Allroad.

Any suggestions?

Could center (prop) shaft cause such vibrations? If so, how to diagnose?

Same issue

I bought an 05 yesterday sight unseen and flew into Boston from memphis to pick it up. Had the very same symptoms. What wound up being the problem with yours?

Problems on above car never fully resolved, just mitigated by replacing all wear parts.
Now having similar vibrations on 2001 Allroad Tiptronic. Tires balanced twice. But unlike initial problem above, the vibrations feel more like 'tire' vibrations (i.e. more pronounced at certain speed (60 mph)).

I think I have a bad wheel bearing (front right); not the typical play/worn (NO play), but a metal grinding noise (load independent). I think I messed up the bearing when installing the shaft. Could bad wheel bearing cause the vibrations?
