well looks i am not the only one having suspension problems.i will try to explain my problem and maybe someone might haven a idea what i should do.
car is only driven no more then 10 miles a day and and was always in second position.then one day front drop when parked.after staring it came back up and it was fine but warning light remain on.so i raise it to the third position and now even after not using the car on weekends front stays level but the light is still on.when on the highway goes down as it should and goes back up.the only problem is when i set it to second position and parked.i don't want to take to the dealer because car is drivable but i now it is not right.if anyone ever had that problem or knows what that is please let me know.thanks.
I had a similar issue and my dealer told me to lower the car to the lowest level and leave it like that overnight. I did this and the next day when I started the car I raised it to level 2 and the problem was resolved. Hope this might help.
do not wear out compressor leave it in position 3 parked
Hello, I own a (europeen) 2001 Allroad full option. I disagree with the suggestion to keep it in position 1 (one green light on indicator) My car automatily goes to level 3 wenn parked and locked. In this position it stays up foor weeks if untoched. If I leave the car in position 1 or 2 it will drop overnicht completly and the compressor must work hard and will break down. My compressor needed to be replaced last month it cost 1100 euro ...
100 labour and 1000 just for the part !!
Be warned do not waer out the compressor.
By the way the car is driving so weel that although expensive its is worth it

Having had this problem, its simple, you need new shocks. $1500nzd per side plus a adays labour to fix. Its that simple. Find the money and do both sides at once, I did one at a time and extended the life of my LHS shock by about 3 months os its not wrth it. My audi has 175,000km on the clock, so I would expect to have to do this in any case.
Ritchie,
thanks very much for your good tip. I visited the site of arnott inmediatly and indees they have new front air spring assemblies and back its quality by a lifetime warenty.
You replaced the old one's in 2 hours you must be a mechanic of some sort weel done! If I order 2 new assemblies (for my front) will that include all the parts I need? will all the airhoses fit the new part?
Thanks for your answer If I can help you in any way just let me know
kind regards Bas Verscheure
This was an excellent source, many thanks for the tip. I have saved myself around $1000. May your family be blessed with many sons $43usd to post it and I get it in two weeks, yahoo. Anyone with suspension problems I suggest getting in touch with this company, they are great to deal with. Even my mechanic has purchased some.
I contacted Arnott in regards to rear air springs and they told me the rears will be available before the end of the year. They did not mention cost.

I have a 2001 allroad. The suspension level never went to the 4th level from the time I bought it (around 8 months back). However I could manually lower and raise the suspension to the other three levels. Recently the suspension is always in level 1 and sometimes it just blinks there. I cannot seem to raise the suspension level at all. Someone please tell me what could be wrong and what can be done.
Hi All I to have had problem with mine, first the air bag leak so did both front, then the valve block, then the compresser but now the module is faulty, it's expensive to fix all this but it''s well worth it, the drive is so good.
