Default Engine Repairs

I have a 2001 Audi Allroad with 67,000 miles.

The local shop in the SF Bay areas just called telling me:
- the valve cover gasket job will cost me ~ $650
- the oil plug, timing belt, water pump and tensioner will cost $1950 (is the timing belt replacement due at all?)

Does this sound correct? If not, what is reasonable?

Thanks.
