hi, i have a 2000 model allroad 2.5td and have the same symptoms as you have described. i have had the car on a diagnostic computer and its coming back with the same codes as you P1857-35-00. the car then started running really rough and was puffing out smoke!! got it back to the garage and he told me to replace the main engine breather unit which i did. after two or three days of it sitting i went to collect the car and he then told me that it was the injection pump?? i got the car back to my premises and started it up...............it ran like a dream, no lights on the dash, no coughing or spluttering either. drove it up and down the road and it ran as well as it ever has. any ideas what it could be??
