Gauge Cluster Changeover - mph -> kph ??

Hi,
I was wondering if anybody has ever changed a gauge cluster from mph to kph. I have an 03 allroad that I'd like to put a used cluster in. I phoned Audi, and they can sell me a new one for $1500. I asked about putting a used one in and they said that it was possible, but that the mileage from the old cluster would not change, so I'd have to find a cluster that had mileage that was close to what mine has on it. They said that it may, or may not work.

I'd rather not spend the $500-700 on a used cluster if it's not going to work. If you have done this conversion successfully I'd love to hear from you.

I would llok into changing the guage face on the speedo. I think VW/Audi used VDO so you may be able to source a new speedo face and have it installed. I too may be doing this so I will uipdate you if I can get things to work out.

You can change it by coding the dash to the specific country this code is 4 digits. in 17 then 07.You need to change the second digit,2 is usa and 4 is england
