Default Some more facelifting of the A8

So I managed to find some MF steering wheel chrome surround controls on ebay for £40 instead of the £220 that Audi wanted for them. And although mine were tip controls and the ones supplied were not, I managed to swap the covers over.

Looks very nice! What is the main difference between 3 and 4 spoke wheel? (Besides spokes!) I see yours is 3 spoke whereas my 2003 A8 has 4 spokes.

No differences, just a sportier wheel. Mine came with a 4 spoke and I changed it to a 3 spoke with TIP and just enabled the TIP controls in the steering controller.

The 3 spoke wheel is fitted as standard to Sport models and have the paddle shift.

SE models have the 4 spoke version.

Oh OK thanks for explaining. My 4 spoke has paddles so I guess there's no real benefit in changing. Is this what you mean by TIP controls?

When I bought my A8 the salesman indicated that the paddles were optional on the SE and standard on the sport I eventually went for. Maybe the original owner specced yours up

I assumed TIP that craig referred to is tiptronic (what I called the paddle shift).
