Default 2004 A8 Bluetooth Module Urgently Wanted!

Does anyone have any info on where I can find the bluetooth module for integration with the V60 phone cradle?

I have emailed and called Jamie who had them before - but have not heard back.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sorted - Jamie Cooper did respond and I ordered and should receive shortly.

This is truly the only way to go - snapping in two items - a V60 cradle (if you already don't have one installed) and a modified BMW Bluetooth module.

Jamie sent me a great link to a video he made:

End cost is around $700 having to order both pieces.

I ordered the cradle from:
Audi A8 Phone Cradle at autowebaccessories.com

I will post again after it all arrives and let you know how it all goes .... but it looks sooo easy without
hacking up your system with after market items - and full MMI integration - including all the buttons
on the steering wheel working

This is the 4th day my car has been at the dealer. They can not figure out why my cradle and BTUM do not work.

My phone nor my Onstar ever worked. I purchased the car in July 2007 with about 42,000 miles on it. I am not worried about Onstar because they are supposed to be disabling it anyway this coming spring. I purchased a cradle and then the BTUM in August. I took my car in a few weeks ago for a bunch of things and they looked at the phone and couldn't tell me anything. I was asked to bring it back in October. I brought in on Tuesday and am still awaiting it to be fixed.

The service department called me later this afternoon and told me that think the problem is with the telematics box. They have ordered a new one and it should be in and installed on Monday.

So my car is in the shop all weekend. I know she misses me. I just hope that the problem will be fixed. They haven't told me anything about cost so I am assuming that it is covered by my warranty. I have about 49,350 miles on the car now.

Hey just be happy it is still under warranty because as a former A6 owner (I was used to Audi's high service costs) I was shocked at how much more the A8 costs to keep up. And while I LOVE my A8 (2004 70000 miles) it does seem that something is always needing repair (usually only minor stuff) so I highly recommend an extended warranty - I went with Mercury Insurance and for $4000 I bought myself basically 3 years of piece of mind - with a bumper to bumper $0 deductable warranty (includes electronics package add on).

Good luck sorting out the BT puck - I'm sure once it's all fixed you will love the BT integration. Thankfully you hit the problem before 50K miles!

I just got an email that the special ordered part has arrived. I doubt if they will work on it today. I really hope they do since the service department is open on Saturdays.

I see that you have a modifed BTUM from Jamie. He never responded to me when I attempted to contact him. But I was told that people have gotten bluetooth to work without a modified BTUM.

My car was a certified car that I bought from the Audi dealer ship, it is supposed to have a 6 year 100,000 warranty. I am in the third year. I don't know what the details are regarding the deductable or what is covered so I wanted to get this major stuff fixed before 50K.

I hope your warranty is really "bumper to bumper "

Well after a week, my BTUM still does not work. The dealer replaced the telematics unit and a control module. Now the OnStar sort of works. When I press the emergency button, I get a voice message stating that it is trying to make a connection. It never did that before. I let is beep for about 30 seconds but it doesn't connect.

The dealer tells me that the pluged a V60 to the cradle and the cradle powered the phone. So he told me that he knows that the car can see the cradle. He also told me that he never heard of anyone trying to get bluetooth to work like I am am describing. He said that he will research it to see. I am not holding my breath.

I am thinking of returning my BTUM. Maybe I will look at one of the other cradles that can hold a RAZR or some newer phone. I really wanted the bluetooth to work, but I am getting nowhere.

Now I have an interesting problem. I finally have the correct cradle. I can connect my phone with the BTUM.

But I still get an error message telling me that my phone is not activated.

AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!

What year is your Audi and what version of Nav software are you running? You have to update the MMS software from the earlier version.
