Route Map DVD Upgrade

I have a 2006 A8 which comes with the 2005 DVD containing routes and maps of europe. This was pretty poor and i bought a 2007 version on Ebay. Unfortunately the MMI does not recognise the new disc. Do I need to reset something? Do I need to bring it in to Audi to have something done in order to have the system rebooted?

Did you buy an RNS-E disk by mistake?

Audi make 2 different disks for Europe

RNS-E A3/A4 old A6 with RNS-E DVD nav system
MMI A6/A8/Q7 with MMI high and DVD Navigation

The latest disk for your car is 4E0 060 884 AS (June 2007) on ebay you may find the AL version from Jan 2007.

Thanks for replying so quickly. The part number i bought was 8P0 919 884 M. What does that tell you?

No. I think you are right. This is a RNS-E disk set. I take it it is no use to me then?

The disk you have is of no use to you, but it could be sold to an A3/A4 owner with RNS-E
