Does any list member know what Auto Ranging headlights are and how to fix the warning light I have constantly displayed reporting the Control Unit is Faulty?
I am guessing that it automatically sets the dipped headlight height according to proximity to vehicle in front. I have had the light come on in the past when stuck in traffic for a long time. Usually the warning is cleared next time I start the vehicle. Now however, it is on all of the time. Any clues gratefully received. Dave Lancaster Worcestershire, UK 2000 A8L |

Hello Dave, the aim is to low or two high,if no problems with the senders on the lower front suspension arms you will have to adjust via vagcom in basic setting or your control unit is faulty.Try and get the fault memory code.Auto range/auto level reads vehicle hight from the sensors on the suspension arms, these can seez and give incorrect feedback to the control unit to adjust the headlight motors
