A8 solar sunroof - effective?

Looking at buying an A8. Wondering if any warm weather Audi owners that have solar sunroofs can advise if they are effective, i.e. should I bother holding out for a car with a solar panel? JB

Having had an S8 and RS6 with solar and now a W12 A8 without, I'm missing it in this blistering weather we are having.

got me an A8 with the solar sunroof great for summer to keep it cool also runs the residual heater when its cold

Interesting stuff on the solar panel. Does anyone know how the solar panel is integrated into the vehicle and how it operates? For example is it a dumb system or is it fully integrated into the vehicle electronics?

Just remember that you will lose the moonroof if you order the solar panel.
