Had my 1999 A8 now for about 5 weeks , experiencing noise coming
from brakes as though they are sticking , this only happens with engine running and releasing the brake pedal when starting off in drive mode.If you depress and release the brake pedal when in neutral it doesn't make this noise. Has anybody experienced the same problem , or have any ideas what is causing this to happen ??? |

Does this happen under light acceleration???
The 1999 Traction control system uses the brakes to keep from slipping the wheels under power. My A8 sounds like that if I get on it in the rain for example... You don't get the pulsing that you seen alot of other cars TCS systems... The fact that you don't see it in Neutral seems to lead me to the TCS as cause of your issue Try ligter launces... (hard with the A8 it's very tempting to mash the peddle every time.) Note the harder you drive the more rear pad wear you get... SG |
