Default A3 radio cassette

Hi,

I have an 1996 Audi A4 1.9tdi with 207,000 miles on the clock and love the car.

We have decided to buy an Audi A3 as a 2nd car (ideally around £4,000) 1.9 tdi 130bhp

I notice a lot of them such as on the embay link below have a radio cassette and not a cd player and also have controls on the steering wheel to operate the radio.

If I bought a car like this how easy would it be to fit a radio/cd player and would the steering wheel control operate it?

If it has chorus cassette radio then it should be a straight swap for a concert radio with single CD/radio.

I have one here that I bought for 157 euros.

I see, where did you get one for 157 euros?

I assume Audi would charge a fortune for them?

I bought it off ebay, it was advertised as an 8P0 radio for A3 2004 onwards, turns out it was for an A3 upto 2004, so it's no use to me.
