SD Memory Card limit??

Hi,

I have a 2008 A3 2.0T and I have bought 2 memory cards (Q Memory 4GB SD card) for the 2 SD slots. The cards are 4GB SD cards (not SDHC).

Card1 has 909 mp3s spread over 52 folders/albums ~3.7GB
Card2 has 687 mp3s spread over 70 folders/albums ~3.9GB.

However, based on the folders I can see for each SD card on the MMI display, I am only able to get the first 32 folders on Card1 (531 mp3s ~2.19GB ) and first 48 folders on Card2 (475 mp3s ~2.56GB )

Is there some sort of limit to the number of mp3/folders I can use?? There does not seem to be a pattern I can see and this is frustrating.
