Putting a hitch on an A3?

I've got a 2006 A3 2.0T with the sport package (I think, slightly different rear skirt but not the sport-tuned suspension) Canadian edition and I was looking at getting a 1.25" trailer hitch installed to carry a couple of bikes.

Problem is, it's a lease which means that I'll have to remove the hitch upon returning it to the dealer (no problem) and return the car to it's original condition which means I can't cut into the skirt.

Anyone have any experience with this? Is there a way of installing a hitch without cutting the skirt?

I've got a witter flange towbar on my 2007 A3 2.0T S-Line, no cutting was required to fit.

I've got the exact same issue with my 07. Extensive googling has indicated that the Draw-Tite 24770 (for '06+ GTIs) will work, although no details on what's required to install other than it takes '10 minutes'. Managed to locate a picture of it in action too:



I don't wanna go to the trouble of ordering it however, anyone else have any experience with this on an A3?
