Default 19" alloys for my A3

Hi

Does anyone have any experience with putting 19" inch wheels on an A3 3.2 04 model.

The wheels are 19" and the tyres are 235x35x19. Does anyone know if they rub on the arches at all and if the ride quality is affected at all.

Thanks

I would go with the 18" man...I just got a set of 18" for my a6 the ride is still a good quality ride but the 19" have a horrible ride quality. They are bad on any bumps, or pot holes.

Default no way

Stick with 19's! 18's look too small. You should use 2253519 though. Paradas fit nicely on the right wheel. No rubbing and mine is lowered 40mm on eibachs.Hope you stick with the bigger ones you will regret going smaller. Check out other peoples pictures before you decide.

wow way to give bad advice. He wont even notice the difference your talking 9/10ths of an inch difference. The 18"s ride better and the 19"s ride like crap you are riding on a tire with less than 2 inches of rubber the ride will go right out the windows. Go down a bumpy road with 19's and tell me you don't think they suck. Trust me i have had both and would never ever go with 19's again after experiencing the 18's.

Oh right! Just got back from my drive down a bumpy road, because I have never driven down one on my wheels. If I thought they sucked then they wouldn't be on my car would they?! The difference of a couple of mm is all it takes to clear the bumper screws at the rear depending on whether the offset of the wheels is right actually! Its obviously a matter of comfort to an extent but on an A3 as opposed to a much bigger heavier A6 the ride is not bad and if you dont live on a farm you'll be much happier with the "look" of 19's. I'd imagine this is classic Jeremy Clarkson syndrome of being old and wanting comfort, not looks.

Alright point taken. He wants to put them on an a6 not an a3. like i said they will not ride good on an a6. He should go to TIRERACK.com and see what they look like on his car. Over all they dont make a huge difference in looks from what i could see. The specialists at tire rack recommend 18's.

Default mate

Hes started a thread called 19" alloys for my A3 in the A3 RS3 and S3 forum? I think he might be talking about an A3 3.2 as he states in his first question.Maybe? The tyre size would be completely different for an A6 also. I dont know why you're a plugging those guys either?
