Hello everyone, new to the forum me so bare with me.
Ive just brought a S3, and the previous owner had it remapped to 315 BHP, MTM. I'm gonna get it taken off because i think the standard 265 is enough for the moment, well until the warrenty has finished anyway. Does anyone know how expensive it'll be to take off? Once it has been removed will it still be detectable and because it has been previously re-mapped will it still void the warrenty? |

Dont think it has anything to do with money... you just visit an official MTM dealer and take it off.
Maybe, and I say maybe, you need to go to the same dealer the S3's previous owner used for the upgrade cause they have downloaded and saved the original program, that was factory fitted to your car! Good luck! PS* I still dont get the reason why to downgrade... is there anything wrong with the car? and you need to visit an official garrage but you cant show up with an upgrade? I am all ears. |

yer i spoke to the company that placed the upgrade on and they said that MTM remaps are completely undetectable, even by the warrenty people. as long as i dont tell them it should be fine. The only reason that i had to down grade it was that i was getting worried about if something went wrong with the engine and because it had been remapped wouldn tbe covered by the warrenty. apart from that nothing is wrong with the car, goes like S***T off a shovel.

well. there you have it! keep it, stay off gas when you dont need to go like a maniac(that'll save some petrol) and worry not! seldomly have I encountered a brand new S3 with problems due to an official engine upgrade... I do not know man but the most common are air-temp sensor and blow off valve not working properly. But, hey! both of these exist in special trims from serious manufacturers like Forge et al
