Thumbs down Oil pump failure

the oil pump on my 2000 S3 (125000) has just seized, causing number 1 piston to seize in cylinder sending the rod through the block. sounds a bit rare, but that is what i have been told has happened! aving a new engine (0 miles) fitted as i type, along with nre turbo, water pump and timing kit. will this add any value to the car, and has anyone had this problem before?

also, wanted to enquire about fuel pump and injector upgrade. does anyone know of any good combos and where to get them from. I got the remap, but thats it. need the best way of getting more power.

Cheers guys . . . .

The 1.8 t engines are prone to oil sludge build up which can cause a blockage to the pump which i suspect has happened to yours !! Have a read of this http://www.audi-forums.com/b6-forum/...ure-light.html

Have you actually shelled out big money from Audi for a new lump then ? as i had the same problem which crumbled my piston and got a full engine rebuild for £1300 which was better than the £3500 Audi wanted..

hi, i got new engine and all th bits that were wrong for jus un £4k. and they picked it up from devon and took it to london. so it aint all that bad. they did however charge me for the fact that they couldnt reuse my old engine, because of the whole the size of my head in the side. this wasnt throught audi though.

a while ago audi wanted £1700 for a clutch and flywheel change! what a joke!
