Angry Condensation in my A3

Hi,

I recently purchased a 2001 A3 from a garage and since then, whenever I drive her, condensation almost immediately appears on the inside of the car, namely the windscreen but all the other windows steam up eventually. I have to keep the blowers on full blast to keep the windows from steaming up and even that doesn't work completely. I have never owned an A3 before and I am not sure if this is a regular problem that occurs. I am getting very fed up of constantly wiping the windows - it's quite hazardous as once the windows steam up, there are blind spots which make me very nervous.

I have put a small dehumidifier sachet in the car as when I first bought it, it had been sitting in the garage's forecourt for a few months so I thought that perhaps the condensation was temporary.

Before calling Audi and possibly paying through the nose for this problem to be rectified, could any please give me some advice?

Thank you!

I would say there must be quite a bit of moisture in the car that will need to dry out and the problem is we are in winter so it may take some time before the car fully drys out due to it standing for so long.

Check the carpets both front and rear for any damp signs as this will indicate if you have a leek or not but my bet is it just needs to dry out.

Have heard of this problem before, and I believe the problem was the pollen filter causing the steaming up. Seemingly it was soaked while the car was power-washed, with the engine and fans running! Cheap and easy replacement without drastic measures.
good luck
