A3 1.8T 2001 Low Turbo Pressure

Hi, I have noticed in my A3 2001 1.8T that at high rpm when traveling in 5th or 6th gear the turbo lacks pressure, but works fine at low rpm. Does this mean a faulty turbocharger? Also the engine is very unsteady when cold starting for a few minutes, until it raises temp, could this be related? thanks

Does anyone know if the ignition coil packs could be causing this?

You need Vag-com to do some logs. If what I've just said sounds like another language then you're out of your depth for the moment, lol.

Yes, my old A6 had the same trouble. take the trip to your vag garage.
On my car coil on sylinder 2 was defect. replaced and drived happely.
BUT NOW, driving new (2007) A3 2.0 TDI (140 bhp)Sportback QUATTRO S-line.
Life is nice on snow and ice roads, having realy fun.
