Buying a diesel A3+need you help!! Bosch fuel pump?

Hi there, this is my first post!!
I have two questions for you:
1, im thinking of buying a Tdi A3 around the 1997 model (as iv got up to £3000 to spend and it would seem that those are the era of A3s that im able to afford!) and i just wanted to know do they have Bosch fuel pumps as im thinking of using a bit of veg oil now and then to stretch the fuel price out that im paying!
2, Am i right in thinking that any spare parts for an A3 would be very expensive?

Hi Craig,

Cant help with the fuel pump thing, but I would think that veg oil may confuse some of the emissions sensors, and the ECU etc...I could be wrong though.

As for the parts, its relative really....they will likely be more expensive than for example Ford or Vauxhall parts, and buying direct from Audi can be dear, but to the same end, you seem to need them less often!
Also there are loads of specialist euro car parts suppliers that are cheaper.
