I've had a similar 'grinding' noise from my 98 1.8 sport at quite low revs (2000-3000 revs). It didn't always happen when it was cold though. Also noticed it when I turned right, which made me think it was something to do with steering, but i haven't heard it for a while.

well av been hunting around the web and it turns out they may be traction control on it and just because of the cold and thatmaybe something's kickin in not sure though a was told another possible thing could be something to do with the driveshaft but al just have to wait and see.
