Hello,
THought i'd try this forum as others have been quite helpful in the past. I have recently bought a 2001 TDI 110 A3 and have been dissapointed with it's performance since buying it 3 months ago. I did have a Pug 306 HDI 90hp which seemed to be much more lively. When accellerating though the gears it seems to have a delayed accelaetion and even then its a bit weary, it reaches all the speed i want, just takes a while getting there and overtaking is not as quick as you want it to be. I don't know what Audis are generally like but i though this car should have quilte a lot of power given that I was told by the garage I bought it from it had been chipped from the 110 to provide 140bhp! I don't know if this can easily be verified as the garage owner only remembered the 1st owner telling him this had been done. I'm quite sure it wasn't a sales pitch as they told me after i'd agreed to buy it. I've had it at an Audi dealer who think it might need the Air flow meter replaced with a sensor added. They said this has been a common falt with the car. I'm no expert and have no reason to doubt them but would appreciate any other opinions on this. I'm happy enough with the car otherwise. cheers |

My daughter has just got the same problem she has just had it back from the garage after a new mapping sensor has been fitted . I had a similar problem with my A4 TDI and it would lose power and if i switched of and restarted while on the move the power would come back in . My car had about 3 visits to Audi and they dindt find a problem . I found a short rubber pipe near the Turbo with a split changed that and the problem went away .
