Have this 9 month old 2.0FSI manual which is great apart from a hiccup when getting away from a halt when engaging first gear. Not too bad when driven very gently but can give quite a kick when trying to get away smartish from traffic lights or onto a roundabout. Local dealer is in denial about it - trying to make out this is my driving style. Not a novice driver have owned many cars including a year 2000 A3 1.8T sport without experiencing this problem. Dealer has already tried changing the EGR valve but no effect. NB am using Shell V Power petrol. Any ideas?

Hi, yes it's a current update being carried out at centres, this is a service update not a recall. Also depending on when your car was built it may or may not be running stratified charge, most have been adapted to just run homogenous only now. I can check it if you send me your VIN

Why badger is away i will give you some help.Technical solution 2009775/3 covers this concern. The engine control unit software is updated and possible pressure control valve replaced. There is also a current workshop action which i think is 28h? but dont quote me on that number as that is off the top of my head.If you return to audi the action will be displayed on F.I.S.H or diolog. As for the service book you will find any workshop actions are recorded in the rear pages of the book near bodyreport sections but not all techs fill this in.I cant check the latest campaign of your chassis number as it is now done online via F.I.S.H ON ELSA 3.4 TO VIN NUMBER REQUEST.

Many thanks a8 tech. This technical solution 2009775/3 - do you know if it specifically refers to a "hiccup" as I have described? Do you have a date when this solution was generated? When you say pressure control valve presumably you mean fuel? Bit worrying that Chelmsford Audi seem ingnorant of the technical solution but the car was last with them in November 2006 so perhaps things have moved on since then.

August 2006 for 2009775/3.This also stores a code P1020,may not be relevant without the code.I would suspect that your local dealer looked for the t.p.l but found no fault code so no action was taken.,hence over looked. The pressure valve is the fuelpressure valve.Ring dealer and ask to speak to the master technician and see if he can assist you with the possible t.p.l or the workshop action 28D9 (I THINK THATS THE COORRECT NUMBER).If all else fails visit the dealer and complete a DISS report with the receptionist or mastertechnician. This report will allow you to describe your issue and allow the diagnostic report to be sent with it to technical services for any repair actions.

There doesn't appear to be any updates outstanding for your car at the moment but it is always good practice for the techs to check while 5051 is plugged in and compare software versions via the online server. there is also a tech solution that may help concerning our old friend the EGR valve, new software from week 23/06 8P7A010511,this is close to your VIN,may be worth a look. 2005425/9. Good luck.
