Bought an A3 1.8 SE (R reg 1997)

The car is very nice, I like it but would like stronger acceleration.

The most annoying thing about the car is the suspension. It's rubbish, the corner is stressful lol.

What would be the best cheapest quality shocks/suspension to buy for flat cornering? ANy idea's where a good place to look for this would be?

Also I am going to get a new exhaust system fitted. Maybe a stronger towbar.

Is there anything else I could do to improve the acceleration/torque of this car? Right now the cars take of feels weak-ish but I'm satisfied with the topend.

I am a person who is always changing my car, but this car I hope to keep for atleast 2 years before changing again.

An early thanks to those who help. I asked similar questions like this on yahoo but got silly answers like ''pain 2 red stripes on either side of the car''.. quite funny but didn't help.
