Default A3 1.9 tdi 98model Cutting out - Please Help

Good afternoon all,

I have an Audi A3 1.9tdi 1998 model and yesterday whilst driving the oil light came on and the car cut out, it eventually started again so i drove home and checked the oil. I completely replaced the oil, oil filter and fuel filter to see if this cured it. i thought it had until tonight when i was driving home from work it cut out on me twice again, it wont start straight away but will after about 5 / 10 minutes.

Any ideas at all would be gratefuly appreciated. Im going to try and get it ona computer tomorrow but some suggestions would be great.

Could it be a faulty oil, crank sensor, faulty battery even im stuck. I genegrally look after the car even though i do high motorway miles!! i only use good quality oil etc, its very frustrating and fairly dangerous as it doesnt tend to give any warning just cuts out, few times the oild light has come on but tonight it didnt!!! It seems to stop on a long trip but still feels a little sluggish.

Ive replace the airmass meter also recently, like i say its generally well lokked after but being a pain in the arse at the moment.

Please help, im supposed to be driving to Silverstone tomorrow night.

Kind regards

Gareth

Voltage supply relay for ecu is a safe bet.Remove the cover of the relay position 12 on relay carrier behind lower drivers dash trim. You may find the circuit board is craked, causing intermitant cutting out.The brake warning light comes on cause it has cut out.
