Hi all we have 2006 Audi A3 2.0 tdi sport in phantom black for about six months now I wash the car Saturday if possible including the wheels.
I used the car today and I can see grease or what looks like grease on the inner part of the front wheel left side.all other wheel are ok Anyone had this before? The car has not been on a ramp yet but I have had look the gator and rubber seal all look ok Any Comments welcome Trev m |

What colour is the grease?
If it is an opaque dark grey graphite colour, then you have a damaged CV joint boot. This will need sorting ASAP - if you get to it quickly, then you are looking at just a boot change (£10 + labour), whereas if it gets left, the joint itself will wear, and you could be looking at a complete new joint (£100 or so + labour). I just had new front tyres fitted so when the wheels are off had a look at the drive shaft gator all looks ok no splits etc. the grease is coming from under the retaining clip near the shock. There is very little grease on the wheel now
