Hi, i'm new here and in need of some help.
I have a friend who owns a 1.8T A3 which is giving him some serious grief. It's hunting for revs and the brake pedal is solid as a rock. Its been to Audi and they want to replace the throttle body at a cost of £440 but I'm not convinced its the problem. Having done a bit of research, the MAF seems to be a common issue but dont see how this could effect the vacuum to the brake servo. My thought is a leaky gasket allowing unmetered air in and chocking the system. Having never really done anything on Audi's before, am hoping that someone may have had a similar problem or be able to offer any advice. TIA Ed ![]() |
