Lumpy tickover on 2.0tdi

Hi all, I have 2003 2.0tdi and have found the tick over very lumpy at times when it is started from cold. Its perfect when up to normal temp. Has anybody had any problems like this. A new MAF has been tried as that was the only fault listed on the computer, but its still the same.

Thanks in advance of any suggestions.

Check egr valve sounds like its clogged up and no opening and closing in time from cold starts
