Power steering rubbing noise

Recently ive noticed that when i turn my sterring wheel around at slow speeds, like when parking , there a a kind of rubbing noise, its been getting worse but doesnt happen everytime i turn the wheel.

Im not sure if its the power steering fulid or what, so does anyone have any ideas?

HeySteve, sounds like I am experiencing the same issue with my 2006 A4. Did you ever find out what was causing the noise?

Yeh, took it into my local dealer and they had a look. From what i can remember they said that it was the steering rack. Basically would require a new one (£900) if i wanted to stop the noise. i said no leave it, they also said that it should be fine as long as i can put up with the noise, just turn up the radio!! Best bit was they did the investigation and a hire care for the day all for free!!!
