Alarm keeps going off!

Hi Everybody,

We picked up our X (2000) reg A3 on saturday, unfortuantly we are having problems with the alarm. As soon as we lock the car either with the keys or the keyfob the alarm goes off after about 60 seconds and doesn't go off. Even if we press the keyfob it goes off but the back on again after another 60 seconds. Its driving us mad, we now have to leave it unlocked! (we don't have a manual)

Also the time and date keep resetting everytime the car is started, I don't know of this is conected?

Any ideas anybody? Is there a way to disable the alarm and still lock the car?

I also have a problem with my alarm. I found a way to look the car without enabling the alarm was to lock the boot with the key (leave drivers door open), then press the button on the drivers door and exit through the passenger door pressing the button before you leave.

I need to et mine fixed.......
