Default Battery Recharging

Noob intro: Hey guys first post here! [/end of noob intro]

I bought a BOSCH recharger and attached it to the battery like i would when jump starting, then i left it over night and on the BOSCH display it shows that the battery is still at the same level as before, it didnt charge...what could i be doing wrong?? Do i need to open any lid? how do i check to see whether there is enough battery liquid?

Is tehre any manual for battery servicing?

Cheers guys!

Has your battery charger more than 1 voltage Like 6V & 12V?
Has the charger different settings for sealed and normal batteries?
Has the charger a setting for Bike batteries and Others?
Make sure it is set on 12V, correct setting for type of battery and Other for car. Bike batteries are much smaller and can only take a lower current while charging.

You ask about water levels in the battery. Most modern batteries are sealed units with a gel instead of distilled water (easy to tellas there is no removable independant lids for each cell). Therefore they are maintenance free.
The life of a battery is between 3 to 5 years. If it's older than that, best to get a new one. Halfords sell all it's new batteries with 3 years warranty these days

hey mavala thanks for the quick reply!

1. My battery charger has only 1 Voltage - which is set at 12Volts
2. The charger has no other settings (not even high/low)

3. Thanks, i cant see any lids to open so im guessing it uses gel. However there is a small plastic cap where i can see a green colour, isnt this usually an indicator for the water level?

Thanks very informative post!

No,
This is an acid indicator.
Green means that the battery is OK

Ok thanks mavala!

The reason i brought all this battery question up is because everytime i start the car, the interior lights dim/go off and the same with the headlights. Then slowly slowly the car starts to spring to life. This isnt normal! So we ****yzed that the battery is OK now what can be the reason for this?
