Anybody know what the most common fault

for the engine management warning light to come on ,for is? On the A3

I actually got that on my brand new car, two days after getting it it came on but only turned out to be a switch or something for the light, so there was never a problem with the engine or electronics themselves. took them half a day to work out though, but was fixed on warranty for me.
