Single to Double DIN

I need to do this conversion and was wonding if any of you guys have tried it.

Is it possible to just swap over the centre console bit in the middle of the dash?

They never made a din cage for the A2, you have to replace the whole dash/center console which includes the single din cage.

So is it a case of replacing just the bobbly bit in the middle (the bit with the 2 air vents, radio, climate etc) or is it the whole dash (ie, needing the steering wheel, passenger airbags and everything else off?).

I've tried looking on a2forum.com but my German isn't quite up to scratch!!!

It's one complete piece that goes across the dash and down the center console in a sort of T shape. Includes the glovebox cut out etc.

RHD part number 8Z2 857 008 A (for cars with navigation systems)

You then have to select the colour you need for your car.
