Hi I've had my audi a2 1.4tdi for about 6 months now (secondhand on a Y plate). I think its a super car but every time I go over a bump the cd skips and the car really feels each bump. When you drive for a while and the cd skips loads of times you do get fed up of it!

Do you guys get the same problem? What can I do about it?

Cheers

Maurice

Cool suspension: me too

Great little car, shame about the suspension.

putting tyre pressure to 36 fronnt and 38 rear has helped overall, but car is way too thrashy on UK A and B roads....and I am wondering if any specialist suspension kits might help?

There are options, but you do end up with a bumpy ride. I have lowered mine quite a bit ( my wing mirror sits under a standard sports version) by using some uprated springs from BEMBO Motorsport. These have been set up with a set of KONI Sports adjustables.

It has taken ages to get the settings right but I have the rear set at their lowest settings and the fronts - 3 clicks in.

The ride on a set of 215/40/17 tyres is hard.. add to this that my audio equipment add an additional 110Kg to the overall weight,, BUT - she handles like a dream and even in the wet, will put the racing car driver confidence back into your spirit.

My tyres are NANKANK Sports N2 they have given me over 22K in mileage and I am more than reasonablly happy.

When driving on the motorway or across country back roads, the car behaves like a little go-cart.. but the bumps and things are a serious pain..

I guess its swings and roundabouts.. I felt my standard sports suspension was too soft for me and I accept the compromise that I now have..

Springs were imported from Italy and cost me £160 plus £80 fitting.
Shocks cost me approx £600 inc fitting (AMD in Oxford, UK)

Don't forget four wheel alignment afterwards - this is a smart move. Hope the info helps.

Thanks EF Max.

Not sure your solution will cut out the bumpy ride on aweful UK B roads and badly surfaced A roads. It sounds like a good drive though, so hope you enjoy!

Thanks for your response.
