So I was given a 95 quattro this weekend from the better half's boss. This is the first Audi I have ever delt with so bear with me.
First off like I said its a 95 with 5-speed V6 runs fairly good and body is pretty clean. It has a few problems so I am debating on weather or not I should fix it or just part it.
The problems it has are it needs a starter, ignition switch, clutch feels like it is about shot it starts to grab when the pedal is all the way out. It does not like to stay in second gear it will shift fine into it but one you start to get on the gas it pops out of gear. It also feels like a tranny mount is bad.
Brakes are bad, shocks are bad, fuel gauge does not work. and some wonderful person decided to brake the driver side window and rip the dash apart to steal the radio.
Its kind of a long list. Are parts fairly easy to come by and would it be worth saving or parting it out?? what do you guys think???
First off, wow that's a lot. And second, it depends where you live. Unfortunately, Audi's are expensive because they are imports but, if you find the right mechanic, it's not too bad. My mechanic gives me deals every time I need to stop by. I would google the name of your city/state and VW/Audi repair. That's how I found mine and I also got a few suggestions from some friends who had VW's.
