Cool 95 cabriolet top wont go down

when i try to put the top down, the cover lifts up about three inches and stops. hydraulic pump works and is full of fluid. Works manually. replaced hydraulic cylinder that lifts cover.

Hi
Check the cable that goes behind the offside hinge on the boot.Peel back insulation and you will find seven wires, these suffer from fatigue each time the boot opens and finally break.I just resoldered each broken wire and the hood now works fine.

This may sound stupid, but it stumped me for months on mine one time. You must have the truck in the locked position for the top to work....otherwise, it will start the cycle, the rear hatch will come up a couple inches and then it will freeze. Yes, you could have a wiring issue, you could have a problem with the cylinder that raises the hatch itself, or, you might not have the truck in the locked position - all three can give the same symptom. Obviously, the truck not being locked is the easiest to address
