95' audi 90

we just bought this 90 from this dude who didnt know too much about cars
mileage is 66,***. I couldnt believe it so i had to buy it.
he mentioned a hole in the exhaust which makes it mildly loud.
now that my boyfriend took it up to 100 on the highway, its gotten alot louder.
the sound isnt coming from the back, its more towards the front in the engine.
DOES ANYONE HAVE AN ANSWER FOR ME?!
we are taking it in this weekend to get an estimate, but i really dont want to be low balled and have to pay more money.

probably the flex pipe before the cats. Common problem with them.
