Oil in expansion tank

Hi i have found that i have i film of oil on top of the water in my expansion tank on my 1.9 tdi, The car never overheats and there are no visible signs that the head gasket is leaking, also does anyone know where the temp gauge sensor is on a 1991 2.3 20 valve coupe.

don,t know about the oil but be carefull the coupe may well have 2 temp senders and one of them is expensive

If your car is an auto, check that you are not losing auto transmission fluid. You may find the cooler line in the radiator is cracked and letting the fluid into to water and visa versa.
