licence plate lights

i cannot get my licence plate lights to work. changed every light bulb on the car still nothing. what should i be looking for. check the fuses nothing. please help

hello,
i have an audi 80 2.8, but if they are using the same route or there abouts for the cable harnesss to the rear lights etc you will find that the cables have work hardend and you have a break.
What you are looking for is the cable harness clipped to the bootlid hinge, follow it until you come to the part that is always flexing betwwen the hinge/bootlid and the main body. This is where your break is open up the harness and simply solder the cable together, but be warned you may end up dooing 3 or 4 as i did.
