Default transmission detent 1990 Audi 80

Greetings,

I just joined the group to address this question. I have an opportunity to acqure 1990 80 with 200K miles (not Quatro). Very clean and well cared for. Only probelm is the transmision detent needs replaced. Car jumps out of gear.

I'm a competent backyard mechaninc having owned about 30 cars over the years. I love German cars. My wife hasa 95 Cabrio.

How big a job is this ?

If I get the car I'm sure I will be back here often.

Thanks

dave
