audi 80 coupe

Wanted to pick the brains of some of you knowledgable people...
Would love to get an audi 80 coupe as my daily runner (20,000 + miles a year)
However, as it is petrol, and big engined, the mpg will be too little to be able to financially be able to keep it on the road (ie. being between 22 and 32 mpg- at a guess)

So...was wondering if people have done either, lpg conversions, or, diesel engine conversions...

and if so, do these ever come up for sale??

Hi Joe,

I'm in almost the same situation as you - I have a 1994 Audi coupe with a petrol engine which I am looking to remove in favour of a 1.9 Tdi. My original thoughts were to purchase a 1.9 Tdi Audi 80 Saloon and simply swap the engines although I have seen others using the VAG 1.9 from Seats:

Audi Coupe Quattro TDi - Nowy Dwor Gdanski, PL

I'm still not 100% sure which option to go for - Have you had any more luck with your search?
