1990 Audi 90 2.3E - Central locking system

Howdee ...

Any ideas how to fix the central locking system? Whole system has failed! I had forgotten what a convenience it is and would like to fix it myself if I can ... any ideas on where the control unit or possible fault would be? All doors are currently independently lockable by manually depressing the locks down or by using the key in the front doors. The boot / trunk is also lockable but of course the key needs to be used everytime now.

Thoughts / ideas appreciated.

the c/l pump is in the trunk. at the right hand side. if you open the carpet and sponge on the top, you will be able to see the pump. good luck

does anyone know where the pump is on a '91 coupe? i just looked for it and cant find it in the position described here or in the haynes manual

yes- its in the right side rear door panel, basically take off the rear seat, then unscrew 4 screws, there might be more i kinda forget, but there are 2 that are hidden behind the seats.
then the panel slides up.

the pump in encased in insulation in the upper rear section of where the door would be.
