Hi all, filling up the gas tank on our audi is a real pain what happens is when i try to fill up the car with petrol at the garage (every pump does it) the auto click off on the petrol pump keeps clicking off as if their is a blockage in the petrol tank inlet . it takes 15 mins to fil up the car!
has any one experienced any blockage in the petrol line that goes from the filler cap to the tank. ![]() |

you have to pull the nozzle out about half way and that should do the trick. It should stay too without a problem.
its a common problem on many cars. i dont know all the details, but the reason has something to do with the shape of the pipe going into the tank. If you have it in all the way, the gas will not go down to the tank immediately but instead it will set off the little trigger inside the nozzle because it thinks the tank is full. If you pull it out a bit, it will allow time for the gas to go to the tank without setting off the sensor. I dont mean to sound like a pro, but my first job was pumping gas. I'm glad to know that i could finally put all that training to good use! |
